What is this game?

Hard Luck is a fast-paced game of exploring dungeons, defeating monsters, and retrieving relics. You are a hard-luck adventurer with nothing to lose and everything to gain.

The game begins when your group lights their first torch. Dungeons are pitch black, filled with monsters and traps, and the light will run out in 90 minutes, so you must act quickly. The Adventurer’s Guild hired you to retrieve a relic. But success isn't just about escaping with the item. Only those willing to take a risk can Brag for Glory and make a name for themselves. The greater the challenges you overcome, the bigger the reward! And if you make it far enough, maybe you'll even be the one to slay a Legendary Monster!

What is within these pages?

The free Quickstart Set contains everything you need to try out the game, including pre-generated Characters (the Brawler, the Scoundrel, and the Hexer), as well as an Adventure and all relevant Monster Stat Blocks. 

What is in the full version?

The full version of Hard Luck will be crowdfunded and contain the complete Character Creation rules, the Brag for Glory system, Level Advancement, Equipment and Magic Items, a complete Monster Manual as well as Game Master Advice on how to prepare and run a session.
